Dr. Sallie McFague is Distinguished Theologian in Residence at Vancouver School of Theology.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Smith College, a Bachelor of Divinity magna cum laude from Yale Divinity School and the degrees of Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from Yale University.  She also holds an Honorary Doctor of Letters from Smith College.

Dr McFague has retired as Carpenter Professor of Theology at Vanderbilt Divinity School.  She is a prolific author whose works include Metaphorical Theology; Models of God; The Body of God; Super, Natural Christians; Life Abundant and her most recent publication, A New Climate for Theology:  God, the World, and Global Warming (2008).

PLENARY SPEAKERS

Bishop Mark McDonald is the National Indigenous Anglican Bishop for the Anglican Church of Canada.  In addition to his ministry among aboriginal Anglicans in Canada, Bishop MacDonald has also edited a collection of essays on the inculturation of worship.

The Rev’d Karen Ward is the Abbess/Vicar of the Church of Apostles in Seattle, Washington.  A well-known spokesperson for the emerging church movement, Pastor Ward participated in the National Worship Conference 2008 in Montreal and will offer her perspectives on the congregation as an expression of a ‘new monasticism’, a religious community witnessing to the faith in changing contexts.
